- Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering

The Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering invites applications for a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor. Primary responsibilities include developing a nationally recognized, externally funded research program, teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses consistent with the candidate’s background and participating in professional/service activities.

Requirements
The new faculty member will:
- Contribute to excellence in both undergraduate and graduate teaching in the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department.
- Develop a nationally recognized, externally funded scholarly program in an appropriate focus area and produce scholarly works.
- Contribute to MSU’s outreach, service, and engagement missions.
- Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
- Participate in accreditation activities, committee assignments, and service to the University, state, and profession.
Required Qualifications:
- PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or closely related field.
- Record of quality peer-reviewed and other scholarly publications.
- Demonstrated potential for developing a nationally recognized, externally funded scholarly program in an appropriate focus area.
- Demonstrated potential for effective undergraduate and graduate teaching in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering.
Preferred Qualifications:
- This search will prioritize academic or professional experience especially in the areas of Controls and Robotics or Electrical Power and Energy Systems.
- Will also consider exceptional candidates who can contribute to other department research activities in in Biomedical Devices, Communications, Digital Signal Processing, Embedded Computing, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, Nanofabrication, and Optics & Photonics.
