The National Fire Sprinkler Association (NFSA)—the leading voice of the fire sprinkler industry—is seeking an experienced Engineering Services Manager to provide technical leadership, manage engineering professionals, and represent the industry on national codes and standards committees.
This is a high-impact leadership role for a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with deep expertise in water-based fire protection systems, NFPA standards, and applied engineering research. Every role at NFSA contributes directly to our mission: saving lives and protecting property through the widespread acceptance of fire sprinklers.
Key Responsibilities
As Engineering Services Manager, you will:
- Lead and supervise NFSA engineering staff and technical contributors
- Represent NFSA on NFPA, ICC, AWWA, ISO, and other national and international codes and standards committees
- Serve as Expert of the Day (EOD), providing authoritative technical guidance to members
- Develop and present TechNotes, Tech Tuesday webinars, and technical publications
- Serve as a subject-matter expert and speaker at NFSA and industry conferences
- Coordinate and manage industry research projects supporting fire sprinkler innovation and advocacy
- Develop and deliver technical training programs, publications, and educational content
- Support NFSA’s mission through additional technical and strategic initiatives as assigned

Requirements
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related engineering field (Advanced degree preferred)
6+ years of experience in fire protection engineering, with emphasis on water-based systems design
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
Demonstrated experience supervising or mentoring engineering professionals
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of NFPA codes and standards, fire sprinkler systems, and applied research
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CAD/BIM software
Collaborative leadership style with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
