Description

ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE/FULL PROFESSOR (MULTIPLE POSITIONS)  

Northeastern University invites applications for multiple tenure track positions in the field of clean, sustainable energy, broadly defined. One primary appointment will be in Chemical Engineering and one primary appointment will be in Chemistry and Chemical Biology with joint appointments in other departments across the University. Candidates will have the opportunity to collaborate in cross-disciplinary teams across the University and will complement existing strengths. 

Fields that may be relevant include materials chemistry, photochemistry, synthetic chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, and bioengineering. We are seeking new approaches for energy storage and conversion, climate and environmental modeling, water treatment, environmental sensing and monitoring, and renewable and sustainable consumer products that are essential for environmental protection and improvement. The candidate would advance research related to environmental sustainability in chemistry.

Responsibilities:

Candidates are expected to develop vigorous research programs cross-cutting the fields of chemistry, chemical biology, environmental science, chemical, and environmental engineering, and/or materials science.  Faculty members at Northeastern are expected to develop independent research programs that attract external funding; teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate level; supervise students and postdocs in their area of research; and participate in service to the department, university, and discipline. A Ph.D. in a discipline relevant to the department of primary appointment by the appointment start date is required. Qualifications:

A Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field or a discipline relevant to the department of primary appointment by the appointment start date is required.  We encourage applicants from a wide range of backgrounds, including academia and industry.
