The Engineering Operations Desk is responsible for managing all paths of incident information to record every infrastructure failure in one database. Assisting with the flow of information from the CETC dispatchers and Engineering employees and managers. Collecting all production reports on work completed the previous night by specified gangs and recording the production in Maximo. The position also manages the documentation of infrastructure asset failures, coordinates and facilitates compliance with track outage schedules, compiles and distributes daily variance reports, and analyzes asset failure and other incident data to provide Engineering management with a comprehensive daily report. Additional weekly and monthly reports are compiled and distributed to keep the Engineering Department informed on key business metrics.

This individual will work 12 hour shifts, 6pm - 6am, 3-4 days per week.

• Understand and manage all paths of incident information to record every infrastructure failure in one database.
• Be a point of contact for the CETC Dispatchers and Engineering for infrastructure failures.
• Capture records of infrastructure related incidents not currently captured through the C&S Trouble Desk or Power Director.
• Associate all infrastructure failures to discrete assets using Maximo, with a defined problem, cause, and remedy.
• Mine delay reporting systems to associate specific delays to each incident.
• Collect all production gang nightly work and record against the appropriate work order in Maximo to ensure that all production work is accurately stored in one database.
• Compile daily reports to track planned productivity vs. actual productivity.
• Create Maximo work orders as specified by Engineering managers for gangs to perform capital, reimbursable and corrective maintenance.
• Create various daily, weekly, and monthly reports to keep the Engineering department informed on key business metrics.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant work experience preferred.

• 3 years of relevant experience required.
• Demonstrated work experience in railroad engineering management systems (or related field)
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport within all levels of the organization and to communicate effectively with departmental managers
• Demonstrated understanding of railroad operations

• Demonstrated work experience in railroad Communications and Signals (C&S) or Electric Traction (ET) discipline
• Demonstrated ability to collect, summarize and analyze operational information

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Organizational Management or a related field or the equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.

• 5+ years relevant experience preferred.

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
