This is a non-tenure track academic year (9 month) position, with the opportunity for additional summer teaching, research, and/or service activities.

URI’s CHE department offers an ABET-accredited B.S. program in chemical engineering with an undergraduate enrollment of approximately 160 students and typical class sizes ranging from 30-45 students, in addition to Ph.D. and thesis-based M.S. programs. The department is located in the newly constructed Fascitelli Center for Advanced Engineering, which is equipped with state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities. Applicants are encouraged to review our department description (https://web.uri.edu/engineering/about/chemical-engineering/) and information about our undergraduate program (https://web.uri.edu/engineering/academics/undergraduate/chemical/).

Applications from professionals with industry experience in process control, design, management, and safety are also encouraged.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be expected to teach chemical engineering lectures and/or to coordinate laboratory courses. These include training and supervision of graduate and undergraduate teaching assistants. Final course assignments will be based on the interest and expertise of the individual and the needs of the department with an anticipated teaching load of 9 to 12 credits per semester.

The successful candidate will be expected to assist the Department in developing program assessment and course review material for these courses as needed for ABET program review.
